Kaimes School is looking to recruit a forward thinking and highly skilled Depute Headteacher to support us on the next phase of our improvement journey. Kaimes School is a special school located in the south east of the City of Edinburgh that caters for 96 young people aged 12 to 18 with complex additional support needs, including autism. The Depute Headteacher will join us at an exciting and crucial time, supporting our work which is guided by our core values of Ambition, Respect, Teamwork and Independence. Kaimes is a vibrant and busy school, where learning activities are personalised to meet individual needs. The Depute Headteacher will play a key role in leading the development of our curriculum and qualifications pathways and improvements in teaching and learning. With a wealth of experience in Additional Support Needs, the ideal person will have a strong sense of "team", be an effective communicator, able to forge strong positive relationships and be able to demonstrate a strong track record of making a positive impact on school improvement.

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.

Salaries will be in accordance with the Scheme of Salaries and Conditions of Service for Teaching Staff in School Education.
