Hours: 15 per week, 39 weeks sessional
This is an exciting opportunity for an Early Years Assistant to join our team, 15 hours per week, Monday to Friday 0900hrs to 1200hrs. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic with excellent interpersonal and communication skills and will share our passion for ensuring the highest possible quality of learning for our young children.
Clermiston Primary School is a non-denominational school which serves the Clermiston and Drumbrae area in the Northwest of the city and has a roll of 455 which includes 40 nursery pupils. The SLT consists of a Head Teacher, Depute Head Teacher, one full-time Principal Teacher, two part-time Principal Teachers and a Business Manager. The nursery team consists of an Early Years Officer, Early Years Practitioners, Early Years Assistant and Early Years Domestic Support Assistant. The school is well resourced with technology and has excellent outdoor facilities including a large and exciting nursery garden which the team are continually developing.
This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory

Our salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annually increases until it reaches the top of the range.
