An exciting opportunity has arisen for a part time, term time, Early Years Domestic Support (EYDS) position in The Spinney Lane School Nursery. We are looking for an EYDS to join our dedicated nursery team, to support the delivery of light meals and snacks for our nursery children.
Candidates who are passionate about working in a childcare setting and have previous catering experience are invited to apply for this post. Applicants should be able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
The successful candidate will provide domestic support to keep the early years establishment in order for children, parents and staff and support the delivery of light meals and snacks for children.
The Spinney Lane Nursery, located in the grounds of Gilmerton Primary School, provides early learning and childcare for children aged 3-5. The nursery has implemented 1140 (term-time) hours from August 2018. From August 2020 the Nursery has run a full-time, term-time only placement for approximately 60 children. Children are in from 8.30-3pm on a Monday to Thursday and 8.30-12.30 on a Friday.
This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.

Our salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annually increases until it reaches the top of the range.
