Hours: 36 per week, 52 weeks a year

Sighthill nursery is a large, busy setting with the capacity for 90 children, with 70 children being able to attend over the two rooms at any one time. The children access various patterns of attendance between 8am and 6pm, 50 weeks per year.

The Nursery is staffed with a friendly, supportive and knowledgeable team who work hard to ensure our environments are natural, warm and welcoming, with nurturing and rich spaces, both indoors and out.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, dedicated and motivated Early Years Officer to join us on a fixed term basis. We are searching for someone who can demonstrate passion, inquiry and energy.

This position is full time, 36 hours per week, and the successful candidate will be required to work early and late shift patterns which rotate on a weekly basis between the hours of 7.45am and 6.00pm, Monday - Friday.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 2 years proven, post qualifying experience in an Early Years setting and relevant experience of working with parents and carers.

Please note - You must ensure that you have one of the following qualifications which accords with the requirements of the Standard for Childhood Practice and meet SSSC registration requirements without conditions;

* SVQ Social Services (Children and Young People) SCQF Level 7

or

* HNC Childhood Practice

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.

Our salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annually increases until it reaches the top of the range.
