We are currently recruiting to boost the already thriving team. As a Health and Safety Advisor, you will assist the Council Health and Safety Manager in the provision of an effective and customer focussed occupational health and safety service.
In the role of Health and Safety Advisor, your duties will include:
• Assist the Council Health and Safety Manager to develop, promote and sustain a best value, customer focused health and safety service to support the Council’s strategic objectives and performance standards
• Assist the Senior Health and Safety Advisor in the provision of advice to line management on health and safety competencies relevant to levels of responsibility and / or work activities in service areas to assist management identify any training needs
• Contribute to the development of effective health and safety management systems, policies and procedures that reflect best practice and comply with health and safety legislation
• Provide managers with professional advice on all matters relating to occupational health and safety affecting the Council as an employer and service provider
To be considered, you will have the following skills/experience:
• Professional H&S qualification (NEBOSH certificate or equivalent)
• Experience of implementing safety management systems including development of policies and guidance• Experience of H&S auditing
• Experience of delivering H&S training• Subject matter expert of H&S legislation and regulation

Our salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annually increases until it reaches the top of the range. For roles in grade 5 or above, annual increments in our contribution zones are dependent on achieving agreed performance goals.
