Housing Assistant for the Homeless Team attached to the Ukraine Response.
Main duties are to provide administrative and organisational support to Housing Officers and Lead Officer currently engaging with displaced Ukrainians who are seeking support with homeless prevention, housing options advice, or requiring to access statutory homeless duties in Edinburgh.
This is an office based role, and the successful candidate will be required engaging with displaced people (either face-to-face, via email, MS Teams, or Telephone) to provide general advice, refer appropriately for targeted support, or schedule an appointment with a Housing Officer.
Post holder will work closely with Housing Officers, Lead Officer, and other teams/organisations involved in the wider Ukrainian response, homelessness/temporary accommodation.
This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
