Waverley Court
Salary: £32,010 - £37,626
Hours: 36 per week
We have an exciting opportunity for highly motivated and experienced individuals to join the Rent Escalations Team.
The Rent Escalations Team will be working within the Localities and will be responsible for rent arrears cases lodged in court, ensuring tenants receive the advice and support they need to repay their arrears and maintain regular rent and service charge payments. The team will also be responsible for the management of Universal Credit including housing cost issues, missing payments, contacting tenants to discuss new claims, DHP entitlement and ensuring complex UC queries are escalated to DWP management. Additionally, we will be responsible for processing and decision making of applications for the Tenant Hardship Fund and ensuring payment of awards to the rent account.
We are looking for candidates who can use their initiative, be innovative in their approach and have a desire to assist and support council tenants to sustain their tenancies and manage their rent account. The successful candidates will have knowledge and an understanding of Housing legislation and have strong communication skills with experience of engagement with tenants.

To help achieve this, we’re changing the way we interview and assess candidates by moving from a competency-based interview approach to a behavioural and technical (skills for the job) based approach. This new way of interviewing will allow us to assess how you think and how you would bring Our Behaviours of Respect, Integrity and Flexibility into your ways of working.
We're committed to creating a workplace culture where all our people feel valued, included and able to be their best at work, and we recognise the benefits that a diverse workforce with different values, beliefs, experience, and backgrounds brings to us as an organisation.
