HR Consultant – Organisational Development
Waverley Court

Salary: £32,010 - £37,626
Hours: 36 per week

We have an opportunity within the Organisational Development team for a highly motivated individual who leads by example. The successful candidate will demonstrate integrity, flexibility and respect in all they do and will take responsibility for delivering superb outcomes for our colleagues. Working with other HR Consultants and Senior HR Consultants you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects designing and delivering solutions and campaigns to deliver the commitments in our People Strategy 2024 to 2027.

The main area of focus for this role will be to support the development and work of our Colleague Networks and Equalities, Diversity and Inclusion activities.

If you’re passionate about OD and want to continue to develop your skills and experience – this role is for you. The Human Resources team is based at Waverley Court, but there is a degree of flexibility of working locations, along with an element of home working available in all roles.

At the City of Edinburgh Council, we’re proud to work together for the people of Edinburgh, making a positive difference to the city and the lives of our residents every single day. We’re committed to creating a workplace where our people are supported and recognised for their contribution to that purpose. Our new Behaviours of Respect, Integrity and Flexibility, will create the foundation to help us create a great place to work that:

•is open, positive, inclusive and safe

• supports and allows everyone to be their best self and do their best work

• celebrates the benefits of our diversity

• ensures everyone feel trusted, valued, heard and recognised.

We're committed to creating a workplace culture where all our people feel valued, included and able to be their best at work, and we recognise the benefits that a diverse workforce with different values, beliefs, experience, and backgrounds brings to us as an organisation.

As part of our goal to improve our organisational culture and create a great place to work together for the people of Edinburgh, we want to make sure that we’re bringing the best people into our roles, not just in their skills and experience but also in their approach to work.

To help achieve this, we’re changing the way we interview and assess candidates by moving from a competency-based interview approach to a behavioural and technical (skills for the job) based approach. This new way of interviewing will allow us to assess how you think and how you would bring Our Behaviours of Respect, Integrity and Flexibility into your ways of working.

You can find out more on Our Behaviours web page Our Behaviours – The City of Edinburgh Council

Our salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annually increases until it reaches the top of the range.
