Salary: £37,626 - £44,257

To help the Council meet its statutory obligations under information governance legislation, we are looking for dynamic and enthusiastic individual to join our Information Governance Unit as an Information Compliance Officer.

The successful candidate will support the wider work of the Information Governance Unit as a member of the Information Rights & Compliance Team, but will have specific responsibilities around facilitating statutory review and appeal processes, undertaking data protection impact assessments, responding to data breaches, and providing expert advice to Council services.

Candidates will need to have a track record of working in an information compliance environment, with the ability build trusted relationships across the organisation. You will need to be highly organised, with the ability to collate, evaluate, distil, and present information in an accessible way. You must be able to manage your own time as working to statutory deadlines is key to the role.

As one of Scotland's largest local authorities, this role is a great opportunity to enhance your skills and join a well-established team committed to promoting the value of information, its effective management, and upholding the information rights of individuals.

To discuss this opportunity, please contact Zaruhi Karapetian, Information Rights & Compliance Manager at: Zaruhi.karapetian@edinburgh.gov.uk

We're committed to creating a workplace culture where all our people feel valued, included and able to be their best at work, and we recognise the benefits that a diverse workforce with different values, beliefs, experience, and backgrounds brings to us as an organisation.

As part of our goal to improve our organisational culture and create a great place to work together for the people of Edinburgh, we want to make sure that we're bringing the best people into our roles, not just in their skills and experience but also in their approach to work.

To help achieve this, we're changing the way we interview and assess candidates by moving from a competency-based interview approach to a behavioural and technical (skills for the job) based approach. This new way of interviewing will allow us to assess how you think and how you would bring Our Behaviours of Respect, Integrity and Flexibility into your ways of working.

You can find out more on Our Behaviours web page Our Behaviours - The City of Edinburgh Council

Our salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annually increases until it reaches the top of the range.

Happy to talk flexible working.
