The City of Edinburgh Council is recruiting a Cycling Officer to strengthen the Bikeability programme across Edinburgh's primary school and special schools. The role will focus on:

The post if funded by Summer of Sport 2026 and is fixed term to 31 March 2027.

About the Role

You will work with targeted primary and special schools to support children to learn to ride and to achieve Cycling Scotland's Bikeability levels. You will also have a role to support and mentor staff.

What You'll Bring

We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed officer to join our Sport & Physical Activity team. This is a full-time fixed-term position, and applications are welcomed from people who hold a recognised cycle delivery qualification.

This exciting role involves delivering high-quality cycling sessions and upskilling staff. Flexibility, strong organisational skills, and a commitment to providing excellent learning experiences are essential.

Successful candidates will demonstrate a strong commitment to health and safety and be confident working with children of varying abilities and levels of confidence on bikes.

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.
