We are looking for a motivated and curious Internal Auditor to join the City of Edinburgh Council's Internal Audit team.

This is an excellent opportunity to develop your audit career within a large, complex and diverse organisation. You will work across a wide range of services, systems and projects, helping to provide assurance, identify opportunities for improvement and support the Council in delivering effective services for the people of Edinburgh.

As part of our team, you will undertake risk-based internal audit assignments from planning through to reporting. You will engage with colleagues across the Council, evaluate governance, risk management and internal control arrangements, and communicate clear, practical findings and recommendations.

You will have:

  1. Experience of conducting Internal Audit work in a public sector/civil service/ multifaceted organisation

  2. Working knowledge of basic Internal Auditing methodology and fieldwork techniques

  3. Working knowledge of with the Global Internal Audit Standards (GIAS)

  4. Effective report writing skills

  5. Business and commercial acumen to support strategic delivery of professional and support services, including ability to interpret and understand financial and budgetary information

  6. Strong inter-personal & communication skills
