Post 1 - Full Time P3 class teacher until June 2026 - commencing immediately
Post 2 - Full Time P5 class teacher until June 2026 - commencing 8th December

Bruntsfield Primary is a large primary school in the heart of the city that prides itself on its strong co-operative links with parents, its friendly, warm, welcoming atmosphere and its rich and varied curriculum. The school is non-denominational and provides education for both boys and girls from P1 (approximately 5 years old) to P7 (approximately 11 years old). Currently there are 21 classes and the school roll is over 600 pupils.

The school is part of the Boroughmuir High School cluster of schools, along with South Morningside, Canaan Lane and Buckstone Primaries. Almost all pupils transfer to Boroughmuir High School. The school building is traditional in design and affords good space for various activities. It comprises two large halls, a gymnasium, a swimming pool, a general purpose room, a general purpose base, a support for learning base, a medical room and a Nurture Nook. School facilities are used widely by community organisations in the evenings and at weekends. Bruntsfield is situated in the centre of Edinburgh and our families contribute to a diverse and rich culture.

Current attendance statistics are 4.8% <85%. Almost all (85%) of our children are in Quintile 5. Annual PEF budget is currently £36,750.

Salaries will be in accordance with the Scheme of Salaries and Conditions of Service for Teaching Staff in School Education.

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
