Salary: £33,594 - £50,589 (pro-rata for part time)
Hours: 17.50 per week (Monday, Tuesday & alt Friday)
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Primary Teacher to join the team at Pentland Primary School on a temporary basis.
Desirable experience includes:
- Experience of nurturing approaches
- Contribution to school-wide health and wellbeing
- Knowledge and understanding of play pedagogy
Pentland is a large primary school in the Firrhill Learning Community, within the South West of Edinburgh. We have a school roll of 500 pupils organised into 17 classes from P1-7 (one team teach) and a term-time nursery with capacity for 54 children. Our staff team are exceptionally dedicated and enthusiastic comprising 23 class teachers, 9 Pupil Supports Assistants, a Pupil Support Officer focussed on Equity and a Nurture Lead alongside our Nursery Team of EYPs, EYAs and an EYO. Our Leadership Team includes 1 DHT and 2 Principal Teachers. Our school is very well supported by an active Parent Council and supportive parent body. We pride ourselves on our very positive and nurturing ethos and our approach to inclusion.
Salaries will be in accordance with the Scheme of Salaries and Conditions of Service for Teaching Staff in School Education.
This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
