An exciting opportunity has come up at Leith Primary School for an experienced class teacher looking to take the next step in their career. The successful candidate will take on the remit of overseeing excellent standards of play-based pedagogy across the CfE Early Level. They should have experience of supporting successful transition from nursery to P1 and be able to develop effective and proactive parent/carer partnership relationships at this level.

Some experience of working within a multiagency model would be advantageous as would an awareness of early intervention approaches that can be implemented successfully for children and families at this stage. The ideal candidate should possess excellent organisational and interpersonal skills, be a positive team player, have a can-do attitude and be willing to support other's practice and lead by example. Whilst Early Level will be the main focus of the role, it is expected that the successful candidate will take a full and active part in the wider leadership and development of the school.

Salaries will be in accordance with the Scheme of Salaries and Conditions of Service for Teaching Staff in School Education.

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check.  Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
