Salary: £26,806 - £27,032 (pro rata for part time and sessional)
Hours: 27 per week, 39 week sessional

  • Post 1 - 27 hrs per week permanent (39 weeks sessional)
  • Post 2 - 27 hrs per week fixed term until 25/06/2027 (39 week sessional)

Gilmerton PS are looking for two committed and enthusiastic individuals to work collaboratively as members of the school team assisting in meeting the educational, care and welfare needs of all pupils across the school ensuring those with additional support needs can effectively access their learning in an inclusive, safe and nurturing setting with every opportunity to reach their full potential.

Gilmerton Primary School is a non-denominational primary school which serves the community of southeast Edinburgh and which opened on its present site in 1968. Gilmerton Primary School is organised into nineteen classes from P1 -7 and the current school role is 511. The school is led by a management team of a Head Teacher, two Depute Head Teachers, a Principal Teacher and a Business Manager.

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.

Our salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annually increases until it reaches the top of the range.
