Are you keen to shape the future of Scotland's capital city? The City of Edinburgh Council is looking for a highly motivated and experienced Senior Engineer to join our Transport Strategy and Partnerships team. This role offers the opportunity to be directly involved in shaping, leading and delivering enhancements to Edinburgh's transport systems, streets and public places.
The successful candidate should be educated to degree level in a relevant discipline and have experience of managing and delivering significantly high value and complex civil engineering projects in a challenging environment. It is essential the post holder has strong communication skills and the ability to build key relationships, including those at senior management and Elected Member level.
The candidate will support delivery of several major and strategic transport projects including the West Edinburgh Transport Improvements Programme and City Centre Transformation plan, which prioritise the implementation of Public Transport, Active Travel and Public Realm improvements. The location and status of these strategic projects will involve effective partnership working with a variety of public and private bodies, experience of working with stakeholders is a key requirement of the role.
