Hours: 36 per week, 52 weeks per year

Are you keen to shape the future of Scotland's capital city? The City of Edinburgh Council is looking for a highly motivated and experienced Senior Programme Manager to join our Transport Strategy and Partnerships team. This role offers the opportunity to be directly involved in shaping, leading and delivering enhancements to Edinburgh's transport systems, streets and public places. You will also have responsibility for projects associated with the Edinburgh and South East Scotland City Region Deal.

The successful candidate should be educated to degree level in a relevant discipline and have significant experience of leading, managing and delivering high value and complex civil engineering projects in a challenging environment. It is essential the post holder has strong communication skills and the ability to build key relationships, including those at senior management and Elected Member level.

The candidate will lead the delivery, oversee construction and manage contracts of several major and strategic transport projects including the West Edinburgh Transport Improvements Programme (which has a budget £36m+), which prioritise the implementation of Public Transport, Active Travel and Public Realm improvements. The status of these strategic projects will involve effective partnership working with government, a variety of public and private bodies, experience of working with stakeholders is a key requirement of the role.

Our salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annually increases until it reaches the top of the range.
