Social Worker - Family Based Care: Adoption Team
Hybrid from home and office base currently North East Locality office but subject to change

Salary: £36,312- £42,717 per year
Hours: 36 per week

We are looking to appoint a highly motivated Social Worker to work within our Adoption Team. You will help shape and implement the service to ensure children, prospective adopters and adopters, and those affected by adoption receive the highest standard of service.

The post requires applicants to have a good understanding of need and risk and the ability to assess, plan and deliver a service, as well as the ability to develop and sustain effective working relationships with others. You should be able to demonstrate high standards in written reports and have a clear understanding of the needs of care experience children affected by adverse childhood experiences.

You must have a social work qualification and be SSSC Registered

You will be responsible for carrying a caseload that:

Recruits, assesses and supports prospective adopters,
Provide adoption advice and family finding for children
Provide bespoke adoption support
Delivering group work and training.

Alongside other functions to promote service delivery and the wellbeing of those affected by adoption.

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.

Our salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annually increases until it reaches the top of the range.
