We are looking for enthusiastic individuals to join us as Social Workers in the Justice Practice Team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to work within professional, dedicated and supportive team, and service.

Candidates must have a Social Work qualification recognised by the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) and be registered, or eligible to register with the SSSC.
The successful candidate will join our Justice Practice Team (JPT) working with individuals involved in the Criminal Justice System, in accordance with National Outcomes and Standards. The role involves the assessment of risk and supervision of individuals subject to Court Orders and post-release supervision.
Assessment
The preparation of Justice Social Work Reports and associated additional assessments; as requested by courts.
Provision of throughcare (TARL/HBR) reports for the Parole Board (JPT only).
The completion of a wide range of assessments as required, including suitability for interventions including Unpaid Work, the Caledonian system, MF2K, and other specialist interventions.
Contribute to the ongoing assessment of risk in relation to child and adult protection.
Core Activities
To be responsible for a caseload and engage with individuals on a statutory basis, including those subject to deferred sentence and the supervision of a range of statutory orders including Community Payback Orders and post release licences
To be responsible for the review, breach, discharge, transfer and completion proceedings, including providing reports and liaising with Courts, Parole Board and Justice Division, as appropriate
To support individual clients, alongside a range of professionals and agencies, to enhance motivation, reduce barriers and improve engagement with services, utilising joint meetings, individual work and groupwork provision
Take a key role in contributing to a range of multi-agency forums in the assessment and management of risk including Risk Management Case Conferences, Child and Adult Protection discussions and Case Conferences and Integrated Case Management meetings
Undertaking all work in line with relevant legislation, National Outcomes and Standards, public protection and other departmental policies, practices and procedures.
Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Assessment and report writing
- Supervising and responding to service users in the community and in custody
- Contributing to multi agency risk and safety planning and management
- Development and delivery of groupwork programmes
Candidates should demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a good understanding of National Outcomes and Standards and public protection, be willing to work in a dynamic environment and to contribute to an inclusive culture that values and respects diversity and lived experience.

Our salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annually increases until it reaches the top of the range.
