Surveying Manager – High-Rise Management and Factoring
Waverley Court
Salary: £52,373 - £62,685
Hours: 36 per week
Through the recent review, we have identified a fantastic opportunity to bring together a team of highly skilled, solution based, customer focussed officers who will manage all aspects of the 50 High-Rise residential buildings we manage across the city. We have a strategic investment plan in place for these blocks and now want to put in place an effective management team that will protect this investment for around 4,000 households across Edinburgh which include both Council tenants and owners.
The successful post holder will lead on property management services (factoring type role), management of all construction activities on site by third party organisations and manage the Concierge service in blocks as well as ensuring safety inspections are carried out. You will also manage multi-storey billing for common repairs in blocks and oversee the delivery of life cycle replacement programmes such as kitchen and bathroom, heating systems, etc as well as Regulatory and Legislative requirements such as checks on dry risers, water tanks, etc in these blocks.
We are looking for someone who has knowledge and an understanding of housing, property and building management services. You should be confident in making strategic decisions which will have an impact on owners and tenants in high rise blocks across the city and have strong communication skills with experience of managing large and complex buildings, application of programme and project management and planning and managing revenue and capital budgets.
If you are someone who enjoys new opportunities and have strong leadership skills demonstrating our behaviours – respect, integrity and flexibility as well as extensive experience of creating, developing and leading a high performing culture, driving change and service delivery, we would love to hear from you.
I am keen to hear from leaders who feel they have the skills, knowledge and experience but, equally importantly for me, demonstrate and lead on our behaviours and would welcome a conversation with you in more detail if you are interested. If you are, please contact graeme.reid@edinburgh.gov.uk for more information.
We're committed to creating a workplace culture where all our people feel valued, included and able to be their best at work, and we recognise the benefits that a diverse workforce with different values, beliefs, experience, and backgrounds brings to us as an organisation.
As part of our goal to improve our organisational culture and create a great place to work together for the people of Edinburgh, we want to make sure that we’re bringing the best people into our roles, not just in their skills and experience but also in their approach to work.
To help achieve this, we’re changing the way we interview and assess candidates by moving from a competency-based interview approach to a behavioural and technical (skills for the job) based approach. This new way of interviewing will allow us to assess how you think and how you would bring Our Behaviours of Respect, Integrity and Flexibility into your ways of working.
You can find out more on Our Behaviours web page Our Behaviours – The City of Edinburgh Council
