Job Description

Teacher of CDT
Leith Academy

Salary: £33,594 - £50,589 (pro-rata for part time)
Hours: 22.4 per week

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated DT teacher to join our dynamic and supportive Design Technology Faculty.  We aim to foster a passion for our subjects within each of our students.  Our DT department benefits from well-equipped workshops and industry standard software to enable our students to develop key skills and become successful learners.  We offer Level 5 NPA Jewellery Techniques 1 and 2, Creative Thinking Level 5 and 6, Design Engineer Construct Level 1 and 2 (equivalent to level 5 and 6), and Practical Woodworking up to N5.

We are open to considering a flexible route probationer or an Art teacher with technical credits within their degree with a view to dual qualifying.

Salaries will be in accordance with the Scheme of Salaries and Conditions of Service for Teaching Staff in School Education.

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check.  Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
