Liberton High School sits within the new, state of the art, Liberton Community Campus, which opened in August 2026. It is a non-denominational secondary school with roll of approximately 900 pupils, working in partnership with our associated primaries to serve our local community in South East Edinburgh.
We have a rising roll which is projected to peak at approximately 1100 within the next three years. The leadership team comprises of the Head Teacher, three Depute Head Teachers, and a Business Manager. Our vision is that 'Everyone Matters' and we show this every day through our values of being Ready, Respectful and Responsible. Our dedicated staff team is committed to supporting our young people to achieve their potential.
We are looking for a creative and innovative individual who will be able to apply their skills, knowledge and experience to support our pupils to achieve success within our CDT faculty of 4 colleagues, as a Teacher of CDT. We are a forward-thinking school community and committed to developing and empowering colleagues as leaders of learning. Courses we already deliver include Graphic Communication, Practical Woodwork, Design Engineer Construct, Design and Manufacture, and Engineering Skills. We have cutting edge tools and resources, including two dedicated IT suites in the faculty. Our faculty team are supported by a workshop technician.
This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
Salaries will be in accordance with the Scheme of Salaries and Conditions of Service for Teaching Staff in School Education.
