Gracemount High School is a small non-denominational secondary school with a roll of 640 pupils serving the Southeast locality.
Gracemount was built under PPP and opened in 2003. The school’s SLT comprises of a Head Teacher, 3 Depute Head Teachers, a Senior Development Officer and Business Manager. We have a complement of 50 teaching staff and 20 support staff.
We are a successful and thriving school community that serves a socially diverse community. Over 70% of our students live in quintile 1 and 2 of the Scottish Index of Multiple Deprivation. We are proud of every one of our students and our staff are skilled, conscientious, and caring.
In the context of continuing to deliver a high-quality education and the expanding and diverse level of need, Gracemount High School are initially recruiting a temporary teacher of Inclusion and Support. The teacher will work across all areas of support in the school. They will need to be flexible in their approach and committed to securing the best outcomes for all young people in line with the schools’ vision and values.
There are 3 key parts to this post however the remit may have to adapt to meet the needs of the school and the young people:
1. The teacher will work in the school’s qualifications hub and focus on targeting supports for pupils identified as being at risk of not attaining or achieving. They will work with the schools Senior Development Officer to co-ordinate and deliver a comprehensive and individualised education package for identified pupils. A key part will be to deliver the S3 pathways programme, literacy and numeracy qualifications and qualifications related to enhancing wellbeing.
2. The teacher will work across the schools Integrated Support Faculty. They may deliver group work sessions as part of a wider education programme and specific qualifications such as pathways and work as well as wellbeing supports.
3. The teacher may be required to support work in our SFL department. This may include supporting assessment arrangements, small group work and supporting pupils in class. Professional development in the areas of SFL will be essential.
Our school values of Responsible, Respectful and Safe underpin our positive culture and ethos; where building the confidence and celebrating success of our young people is at the heart of what we do.

Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check.
