An exciting opportunity has arisen to lead and manage a team of patch Housing Officers and Housing Assistants based in the South East Locality. The South East locality has around 4,000 Council tenancies spanning across the City Centre, Gilmerton, Gracemount, Moredun and Inch areas, managed by three housing teams.
The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting their team in delivering high quality tenancy and estate management, driving excellent customer service outcomes whilst ensuring compliance with the relative statutory and policy frameworks.
A key part of the role will include day-to-day leadership, performance management and professional development of your team to ensure our customers receive a first-class service. You will be responsible for the implementation, management and improvement of key aspects of the Housing Service including the turnover of empty homes, rent collection, repairs to Council homes, mixed tenure repairs work and wider estate investment opportunities.
You will lead by example in creating a positive culture for driving service improvement and evolving our working practice to respond to the needs of our tenants.
This demanding but extremely rewarding role requires close partnership working with internal and external colleagues, and services to achieve positive outcomes and ensure that our tenants are supported fully in their homes. Experience of dealing with problem solving and frontline complex issues in the social housing environment is essential.
We're committed to creating a workplace culture where all our colleagues feel valued, included, and able to be their best at work, and we recognise the benefits that a diverse workforce with different values, beliefs, experiences, and backgrounds brings to us as an organisation.
If you have the relevant experience in a Locality Housing environment and can provide strong leadership to support a team and are interested in contributing to the development of our service, then we would like to hear from you.
We are committed to a diverse and inclusive workforce where everyone feels valued and able to be their best. We particularly encourage applications from women for senior roles, as well as people from minority ethnic backgrounds, people with disabilities or neurodivergent people, care experienced people, carers and LGBT+ people across all levels of the organisation, all of whom are currently underrepresented. All applicants will be considered fairly based on skills and experience. Disabled and care-experienced applicants who meet the minimum job criteria will be guaranteed an interview.
