Vehicle Maintenance Technician

The City of Edinburgh Council are recruiting Experienced Vehicle Maintenance Technicians to support the Fleet Workshops department in the full maintenance, servicing and upkeep of a diverse range of HGV and Light commercial vehicles including refuse collection trucks, street cleansing sweepers, cars and vans. The department has recently seen significant investment in excess of £50m as part of a project to fund upgrading our current fleet assets as well invest in brand new workshop facilities.

These post will further support the current team maintaining a number of assets both Council owned and equipment for external customers. The Council is looking for time served individuals with an extensive background in maintaining either heavy goods or passenger commercial vehicles. You will be expected to deliver all forms of maintenance both planned and unplanned and participate in the provision of a standby breakdown cover rota. The salary package is enhanced by a minimum of 32 days leave per year rising to a maximum of 40 days per year dependant on continuous service, generous employer pension contributions like no other and numerous employee benefits, such as Green Car scheme, Cycle to work, Lifestyle savings and Gym membership.

Our salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annually increases until it reaches the top of the range.
