Job Description

This post is for 14 hours with a work pattern of either Tuesday and Wednesday or Wednesday and Thursday. Please note as this post is part time, your salary will be pro rata to hours worked. Interviews are scheduled to take place on 27/06/2024 and there will be no requirement for observation of lessons as part of the interview process.

This is an exciting opportunity to become part of the transformational change of ASL across Clackmannanshire. We are committed to meeting the needs of all our children and young people with ASN in our mainstream settings by ensuring there is an appropriate curriculum, environment and skilled staff to support. We are looking for experienced, skilled ASL practitioners who can support and drive forward the development of Inclusive Establishments, through the development flexible learning spaces and providing direct support to children/young people You will be integral in the delivery of this model and be essential in delivering ASL CLPL of staff across Clackmannanshire. This post is open to teachers working across ELCE, and Primary sectors and may involve working in one or more establishments.

  • To support the development of inclusive educational establishments.
  • To develop the capacity of establishment staff and management to provide an accessible, appropriate curriculum for all learners
  • To teach within and support establishments to develop flexible learning spaces to meet the needs of a range of ASN.
  • To plan and deliver direct specialist intervention with individual and/or groups of children/young people, in time-limited blocks of intervention, by working collaboratively with establishment staff
  • To provide advice and consultancy to teachers and ELCEs and ASL staff in establishments on how to support children/young people with a range of ASN.
  • To contribute to Team Around the Child meetings and the development, implementation and review of targets within the Child’s Plan.
  • To liaise closely with parents/carers, education colleagues and relevant specialist agencies
  • To plan and deliver CLPL on a range of ASN
  • To establish a network for ASL staff across the Learning Community/Authority,
  • To maintain contact with local and national sources of information and expertise.
  • Any other duties as may be considered appropriate for this post as directed by the Manager
