Job Description
TEMPORARY UNTIL 10/08/2025
Muckhart Primary School is a rural school in Clackmannanshire with a roll of 41. We currently have 2 classes. We are recruiting an experienced teacher to cover a maternity leave in the P1-3 class. Our school was built in 1845 and is situated half a mile from the centre of the village on the road to Muckhart Golf Club. Our values of Kindness, Honesty and Determination - and our vision is “A Thriving Resilient Happy community of learners” – are the basis of our ethos and all that we do at Muckhart Primary School.
We are an outdoor-loving school. We have amazing grounds ideal for outdoor learning and play. We love to build dens and get muddy. We are a small core staff team of 6 and therefore we all have to muck in. We work together for the benefit of all as one Muckhart family. We have excellent support from our families and the wider community. We have an active and supportive Parent Council.
Our School Improvement Focus is on raising attainment in literacy and numeracy. This session we are developing family learning opportunities and the Spring term we will be focusing on our biennial whole school show. We work closely with our cluster colleagues – this session to develop our moderation of planning, learning, teaching and assessment of writing.
Clackmannanshire is a lovely area to live and work in. We are lucky to be such a small county that it’s easy to get to know colleagues across all of the schools.
The successful applicant should be flexible and keen to take on leadership roles across the curriculum. One of the benefits of working in a small school is the variety of opportunity offered to teaching staff.
