Job Description
Please note - TEMPORARY POST FOR 18 MONTHS
As a core member of the Housing Business Management Team, working in a rapidly changing environment, the coordinator must be flexible in undertaking a range of functions.
The post holder will work with colleagues towards achieving Council plans, values and improving services and will also understand the importance of working with partner agencies to achieve great outcomes. Working with the various staff within their team the post holder will ensure a number of priorities are met within the specific areas of business within the remit.
The major specific arears of responsibility are:
Lead on the formulation and periodic review of Housing policies to ensure they effectively deliver strategic objectives and meet best practice as well as legislative and regulatory requirements of the landlord function.
Encourage community and tenant participation in all aspects of the Housing Service. Develop quality communication methods for tenant consultation and involvement. These will be met by ensuring that the review and implementation of the participation strategy is met.
Act as an internal consultant within the Housing Service, conducting audits and reality checks, identify areas for service improvement, making appropriate recommendation and project managing delegated planned improvements.
Ensure that in conjunction with the Team Leader that deadlines are met to ensure that regulatory information is provided to both internal stakeholders and to external agencies such as the Scottish Housing Regulator and Scottish Government.
Contribute to the strategy and operational planning activities within the Housing Service.
This job holder will have the delegated authority to deputise for the Team Leaders in Housing Operations. This will include making decisions on their behalf if they are unavailable.
