Job Description

Social Worker - Children and Families team – NQSW welcome
Clackmannanshire Council’s Children & Families Social Work Service is committed to achieving positive, meaningful outcomes for children and young people who require care and protection. We are passionate about delivering high-quality, trauma-informed practice that places children and families at the centre of everything we do.
Our service is actively embedding The Promise, UNCRC, GIRFEC, and the National Child Protection Guidance, alongside the Safe and Together Model, which is being implemented across the Local Authority. We firmly believe in the power of strength-based, relational social work and are dedicated to supporting children and families affected by adult and childhood trauma, including where relationships and parental capacity may be compromised.
As a small local authority, Clackmannanshire Council offers a supportive and collaborative working environment. We provide:
  • A clear and structured training and development framework
  • Opportunities for further study and professional development
  • Regular supervision and support
  • A culture that values reflective practice and innovation
We welcome applications from both experienced and newly qualified social workers who are creative, dynamic, and committed to improving outcomes for children and young people.
Newly Qualified Social Workers (NQSW)
  • We have developed an innovative and comprehensive induction programme for Newly Qualified Social Workers. This includes:
  • Regular NQSW support groups
  • Opportunities to build confidence and competence across teams
  • Structured guidance to support your transition into professional practice
We also welcome applications from final-year social work students who are due to complete their studies. This can be discussed further during the interview process.
