Courses Coordinator (e-Sgoil), Western Isles
37 hours per week, fixed term 12 months
£28,960 - £31,776 per annum, inclusive of £2,742 Distant Islands Allowance per annum

The Courses Coordinator will liaise between learners, their schools, partner organisations (including Further and Higher Education establishments) and e-Sgoil colleagues to coordinate a Scotland-wide offer of certificated learning aimed at widening curricular choice and improving equity of course availability. The postholder will provide project and other relevant administrative support services to the Head of School and wider e-Sgoil management team, as directed.  The role will be contributing to the delivery of an e-learning service across Scotland.

Duties will include contributing to the design and promotion of certificated programmes of learning; responding to queries from schools, learners, families and other stakeholders, delivering excellent customer service at all times and dealing proactively with issues within parameters set by line managers; working with e-Sgoil colleagues to ensure all learners have access to and can effectively use the digital platform and tools used for online learning; and administrative duties associated with delivery of the programme, including arranging meetings and events, minute taking, collection and collation of data in accordance with GDPR-compliant procedures.

Knowledge of the Scottish education system along with an understanding of barriers facing young people in accessing educational opportunities is essential.

You must be educated to SCQF Level 7, or equivalent, in a relevant discipline or have extensive relevant experience. You must have excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate clearly verbally (in-person, online and by phone) and in writing. You must have evidence of flexibility and working effectively as part of team and be proficient in the using of Microsoft O365 apps, including Excel and Teams.

This post is subject to membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme in respect of regulated work with children.

This post can be based anywhere in the Western Isles.

Salary for the above post is inclusive of Distant Islands Allowance. Appointment to the post will be on the first point of the grade.
