Economic Development Officer (Energy), Outer Hebrides   
37 hours per week, 2 Years Fixed Term 
£48,622 - £52,635 per annum, inclusive of £2,997 Distant Islands Allowance per Annum

As an Economic Development Officer, you will support the delivery of the Outer Hebrides Economic Strategy and the work of the Economic & Community Regeneration Service in achieving the Comhairle’s corporate priorities. You will be engaged in the development and delivery of projects, funding applications, and partnership working in order to maximise the economic and community impact of existing and emerging key sectors in the Outer Hebrides, with a specific focus on work in relation to energy and inward investment.   

You should understand the key issues that affect the economy and community of the Outer Hebrides and have knowledge of the relevant policy landscape at local and national level.

 You should have proven ability to manage projects including staff and/or consultants and demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills, with an ability to present complex information and advice clearly and precisely to a diverse range of audiences.

You must have a relevant degree-level qualification or a minimum of 3 years work experience in economic development /project management or a related discipline.

The role requires a full driving licence and access to a vehicle.

Salary for the above post is inclusive of Distant Islands Allowance. Appointment to the post will be on the first point of grade with annual incremental progression.
