Job Description

Required for 37 hours per week for 4 Years Fixed Term. The postholder will be required to: Provide professional quantity surveying services to a wide range of new-build, alteration and extension projects; Provide the Building Projects Manager, or other relevant lead officer with advice on costs, procurement and expenditure control on individual contracts; Ensure procurement documentation meets the requisite standards and are in accordance with current legislation and guidance.

Requirements

You must be educated to degree level, in an RICS accredited degree, in quantity surveying and have the ability and eligibility for RICS APC entry enrolment to achieve Chartered status (Quantity Surveying and Construction pathway) within the term of the contract You must have detailed knowledge of: building construction procurement and documentation; current construction methods and techniques; RICS new rules of measurement; estimating, cost planning, tendering and post contract cost control; SBCC contracts; and measurement take-off and production of bills of quantities. You will be required to have the ability to financially manage projects from inception to completion within time and budget constraints. A current driving licence is essential. Salary quoted is inclusive of Distant Islands Allowance. Appointment will be on the first point of the scale.
