Homeless Services & Support Officer, Stornoway (8234)
31.45 hours per week, Fixed Term until 31 December 2026
£29,997 to £32,408 per annum (inclusive of £2,547 Distant Islands Allowance per annum)

As a homeless services and support worker, you will provide a service to homeless and potentially homeless individual and family households, ensuring that the Comhairle’s statutory duties are met.

You must be educated to HNC/SVQ3 standard or have at least three years’ experience of working in a housing, support service and/or social care environment with direct client involvement. 

You must have knowledge of Homeless Legislation and wider housing issues as well as the ability to work with and understand homeless clients who may have complex social, emotional and behavioural difficulties. 

You should have excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as good interpersonal team working and customer care skills. 

A full driving licence is essential in this role.

This post is subject to membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme as a legal requirement of a regulated role with Adults (Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme - mygov.scot).

Salary for the above post is inclusive of Distant Islands Allowance. Appointment to the post will be on the first point of the grade.
