£35,291 to £37,127 per annum (inclusive of £2,997 Distant Islands Allowance per annum)
An IT Support Technician is required to ensure that the Council's central computer systems, applications, phones and communications networks are operated in an efficient, controlled and secure manner in accordance with current installation standards and to provide support and advice to users of these systems, networks and applications.
You must have an understanding of the issues associated with supporting all aspects of IT in a busy corporate environment; familiarity with and appreciation of the importance of the role of frontline support, the role of the Helpdesk in a busy IT environment and network support issues.
It is essential you have significant experience in a formal technical support environment, experience of firstline support in a formal Helpdesk environment and excellent customer services skills with experience in communicating with computer users to identify and fix problems.
Salary for the above post is inclusive of Distant Islands Allowance. Appointment to the post will be on the first point of grade with annual incremental progression.
