Pride in Place Programme Manager, Lewis & Harris
37 hours per week, fixed term for 2 years
£48,622 – £52,635 per annum ( inclusive of £2,997 Distant Islands Allowance )

Pride in Place is the UK Government’s flagship communities programme which empowers local people to shape the future of their neighbourhood. Each neighbourhood within the programme will receive up to £20 million in funding over 10 years. Neighbourhood Boards, made up of local people, will decide how to invest this funding. As the accountable body for the funding, the Comhairle is looking for a dedicated Programme Manager for Pride in Place in Stornoway and Lewis. The postholder will manage and administer the programme on behalf of the Neighbourhood Board and ensure the Comhairle meets UK Government requirements as Accountable Body for the funding. This is a two-year, fixed term post, with possibility of extension.
You should have knowledge of compliance approaches including formal investigation, negotiation, adherence to timescales, enforcement protocols and the need for structured recording of actions and decisions taken.

The postholder will be required to have a thorough understanding of the key economic and community issues affecting the Outer Hebrides with knowledge of the policy landscape at local and national level in relation to the economy and community of the Outer Hebrides.

You must be educated to a relevant degree level qualification OR have a minimum of 3 years relevant practical work experience, preferably in community development, economic development, or place-based regeneration.

You will have the ability to undertake in-depth investigation, examination and assessment of project and funding enquiries / applications, business plans and financials, and prepare comprehensive written reports for decision makers and presentations.

This role requires a full UK Driving Licence.

Salary for the above post is inclusive of Distant Islands Allowance. Appointment to the post will be on the first point of the grade.
