Procurement Officer, Stornoway (5320)
37 hours per week, permanent post
£36,430 - £39,362 per annum (inclusive of £2,997 Distant Islands Allowance)

Working as part of the Procurement Team, you will provide professional procurement support across Comhairle services, helping departments identify effective service delivery options and ensuring procurement activities are undertaken in line with legislation, best practice and Comhairle policies.

The successful candidate will undertake market research, provide advice and support with specification preparation, coordinate tendering exercises including advertising opportunities, support tender evaluation and contract award processes, and assist with contract management and supplier development activities. You will also contribute to the delivery of the Comhairle's strategic procurement objectives.

Strong analytical, organisational and interpersonal skills are essential, along with the ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.

You must hold a Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) Level 4 qualification, or equivalent, and have a minimum of two years' experience working within a procurement team.

The role may require travel throughout the Western Isles and to the mainland as required.
