Senior Social Care Worker, Grianan and Carloway Day Centres
37 hours per week, Permanent Post
£39,844 – £43,992 per annum ( inclusive of £2,997 Distant Islands Allowance ) 

As Senior Social Care Worker, you will supervise and manage staff within the social care setting. You will also deputise in the absence of the Manager to ensure the operational running of the service and its compliance with the Regulation of Care (Scotland) Act 2001.

You must have knowledge of Person-Centred Planning and Legislations such as:

• Knowledge of Adults with Incapacity Act (Scotland) 2000.
• Knowledge of Adult, Support and Protection (Scotland) Act 2007.

You will hold a minimum of SVQ III in Care (or equivalent) and the additional requirements as directed at time of registration with SSSC. (In the absence of this – the candidate must have the ability to undertake and achieve all necessary qualification – 36 months after registration with SSSC).

You should have significant Social Care/Social Work and leadership experience.

As an individual, you must have a positive attitude to work, empathy and respect for others.

You should have the ability to work with behaviours that challenge services and demonstrate core professional values.

Salary for the above post is inclusive of Distant Islands Allowance. Appointment to the post will be on the first point of the grade.
