As an important part of the Adult Social Work Complex Team Care this new and exciting post will provide Administration support to the Dunmuir Park Housing Support Service, The Rowans Respite Unit and Castle Douglas Community Support Service at a time of great progress and development. This is a permanent 36 hour per week post based within the services main office bases. The role will operate to the needs of the service with a general expectation of contracted hours being delivered between the hours of 8am and 6pm.

You must be confident, highly motivated with the ability to work as part of a team and as an individual. You should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise professionally and sensitively with internal and external colleagues and partners, including those people who use the service and their representatives. An understanding of the nature of work and needs of those services working within Adult Social Care would be preferred.
You should be confident and have experience with computer applications and systematic ways of working. Working alongside the management team for the services you will play a key role in their effective daily functioning and development.
A good knowledge of Microsoft packages is essential, with good knowledge of general office working procedures being desirable.
You will be educated to SCQF Level 6 in a relevant subject or equivalent.
This post is considered as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to formal offer of employment being made by Dumfries and Galloway Council.
Applicants who have been resident outside the UK within the last 5 years, if offered a position, in addition to a Disclosure Scotland Check, will be required to provide a completed police record check from the police authority in the country or countries in which they were resident.
