Children and Families Social Work Services is seeking to recruit a Bairns’ Hoose Co‑ordinator to help deliver our ambition to provide children and young people with a trauma‑sensitive, rights‑based and recovery‑focused response to their care, protection, justice and recovery needs.
The Bairns’ Hoose model is based on the European Barnahus approach: a child‑friendly, multi‑disciplinary and inter‑agency model supporting children who are victims or witnesses of all forms of violence. It brings together Police, Social Work, Health, Court and recovery services under one roof, ensuring children receive coordinated, compassionate and effective support.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a central point of coordination for children, young people and their families throughout their Bairns’ Hoose journey
- Work alongside children and families to help them navigate complex systems using a trauma‑informed approach
- Ensure children’s rights, voices and experiences are central to all aspects of service delivery
- Gather, analyse and evaluate feedback from children, young people and families to inform continuous improvement
- Support the ongoing development of the Bairns’ Hoose practice model in line with agreed objectives
- Facilitate meaningful participation and engagement of children, young people and families in service design and development
- Work collaboratively with partner agencies to maintain a coherent, child‑centred approach
Essential Requirements
- In‑depth knowledge and understanding of best practice and regulatory requirements in child care and young people’s services
- Experience of outcome‑focused service planning, monitoring and evaluation
- Educated to SCQF Level 9 (or equivalent)
- Registered with a relevant professional body
- A current driving licence is an essential requirement of this post. However, if you have a disability which precludes you from holding a driving licence consideration will be given if alternative transport can be arranged.
