You will be required to work 36 hours per week, 39 weeks per year.
The main tasks in the post are:
Working in the Office you will undertake general administrative duties associated with the day to day running of the office from reception duties with members of the public and students etc. to cash handling again from both members of the public and students. There is also a requirement for the daily running of the General Budget and purchasing of goods and services for the school.
You should be motivated, enthusiastic and able to work as part of a team with a strong community spirit. In addition, you should enjoy working with young people and be able to communicate with them in a pleasant, cooperative and diplomatic manner. Understanding the importance of confidentiality within the role is also vital. Knowledge of working in a Library environment and of IT is desirable although training will be provided to ensure competence in this area.
This post is considered as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to formal offer of employment being made by Dumfries and Galloway Council.
Applicants who have been resident outside the UK within the last 5 years, if offered a position, in addition to a Disclosure Scotland Check, will be required to provide a completed police record check from the police authority in the country or countries in which they were resident.
