Bring Your Passion to Our School Kitchen!
We’re looking for a positive, hands-on General Assistant (Cook 1) to help fuel our pupils with fresh, tasty meals every day. If you enjoy supporting your local community, thrive in a busy and engaging environment, and want a role that makes a real difference to you and the children in our school, we’d love to hear from you. Hours Per Week: 10
38 Weeks per year 
2 hours a day Monday – Friday  
12.15 – 14.15pm

You must be an energetic and enthusiastic person that will carry out the following tasks: 

o    Baking / Light food preparation 
o    Serve meals 
o    Setting up and decanting of dining room  
o    Setting up service area 
o    Cash handling as and when required  
o    Dishwashing and General kitchen duties 
o    Clearing down and cleaning kitchens and staff rest areas  
o    Carry out electronic paperwork  
 
Initial training will include Basic Food Hygiene and Allergen Awareness. 
Kitchen experience is not necessary as full training will be given if required.

This post is considered as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.  From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to formal offer of employment being made by Dumfries and Galloway Council.
