You will be required to work 12.5 hours per week as Depute Nursery Manager and 23.5 hours per week as a Nursery Nurse over 39 weeks per year.
Noblehill Primary School are seeking to recruit a committed and dedicated Depute Nursery Manager/Nursery Nurse to work as an effective member of our early years team delivering high quality child-centred service which meets the needs of children and their families. The successful applicant must fulfil the duties of a Nursery Nurse and the duties of the Depute Nursery Manager.
As Depute Nursery Manager you will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the nursery in the absence of the Nursery Manager, ensuring that all children are provided with high quality early learning and childcare. The successful candidate will have strong communication, organisational and interpersonal skills. The individual must be highly motivated, have a positive attitude towards working with children, and be ready to lead and manage team of staff.
You are required to hold a qualification in Social Services, Children & Young People at SCQF Level 7, or an HNC in Childhood Practice at Level 7 (or equivalent). Preferred candidate must commit to gaining BA Childhood Practice or equivalent within first registration period with SSSC as Manager/Lead.
As Nursery Nurse you must be energetic and innovative, have the ability to develop and maintain excellent relationships with adults and children and be committed to further learning and development of your own practice to improve the educational experience for all children. The post requires the successful applicant to be able to work in a variety of contexts and consequently a flexible attitude and the ability to work on your own initiative as well as part of a team are essential characteristics.
‘Dumfries and Galloway Council’s Nursery settings may operate between the hours of 8.00am – 6.00pm and employee working patterns will be required to meet the needs of the service’.
This post is considered as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to formal offer of employment being made by Dumfries and Galloway Council.
Applicants who have been resident outside the UK within the last 5 years, if offered a position, in addition to a Disclosure Scotland Check, will be required to provide a completed police record check from the police authority in the country or countries in which they were resident.
