Duty Officer – Leisure Facilities (Fixed Term)
Dumfries

We are seeking a motivated and positive Duty Officer to support the day-to-day operations of the Dumfries Ice Bowl. This is an exciting opportunity to take on a fixed term role (up to 12 months), which is also available as a secondment for internal candidates with line managers prior agreement.

In this dynamic and fulfilling role, you will ensure our customers enjoy the best possible experience while using our facilities. You’ll use your leadership and people skills to motivate and support staff in delivering high-quality leisure services as part of the wider Thriving communities team.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supervising daily operations and staff within the facility
  • Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety and Child Protection policies
  • Promoting services, activities, and promotions to increase customer engagement
  • Collecting and reporting performance data as required

We are looking for someone with:

  • Experience in a supervisory role within a leisure or customer-focused environment
  • Strong interpersonal and teamworking skills
  • A flexible approach to working hours, including evenings and weekends

Desirable qualifications:

  • HNC or equivalent in a Leisure-related field
  • CIMSPA membership

 

This post is considered as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.  From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to formal offer of employment being made by Dumfries and Galloway Council.
