General Assistant (2) (Fixed Term)

£3,800.05 - £3,864.92
We are looking for two General Assistant’s funded by the Bright Start Breakfast Fund. This is a fixed term post for 6.25 hours per week, 39 weeks per year until 1 July 2026.
This post may be suitable for secondment. Agreement from your line manager must be sought before applying for this post.
2 members of staff would be required to work the following:
- 7.45am arrival to set up, Monday- Friday
- Take register and collect money
- Children arrive between 8.00am and 8.30am
- Serve breakfast and clear up afterwards, including washing the dishes
- Children head back to primary for 8.45am
- The successful candidate will be motivated, organised and must have a pleasant manner and relevant experience working with children and young people.
- Applicants must be educated to Standard Grade English and Mathematics at Level 4 or equivalent.
This post is considered as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to formal offer of employment being made by Dumfries and Galloway Council.
Applicants who have been resident outside the UK within the last 5 years, if offered a position, in addition to a Disclosure Scotland Check, will be required to provide a completed police record check from the police authority in the country or countries in which they were resident.
