Job Description

General Assistant (Fixed Term)

£3,040.04 - £3,091.92

 

You will be required to work 5 hours per week, 39 weeks per year.

 

We are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic individual to run our Breakfast Club. The successful candidate will work Monday to Friday from 8:00am–9:00am, supporting pupils in a safe, welcoming and positive environment. Duties will include set-up from 8:00–8:15am, supervising and engaging with pupils during the club 8:15–8:45am, and clean-down from 8:45–9:00am. Food and hygiene training will be provided. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with children and can help ensure pupils start their school day settled, nourished and ready to learn.

 

The successful candidate will be motivated, organised and must have a pleasant manner and relevant experience working with children and young people.

Applicants must be educated to Standard Grade English and Mathematics at Level 4 or equivalent.

 

This post may be suitable for secondment. Agreement from your Line Manager must be sought before applying for this post.

 

This post is considered as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to formal offer of employment being made by Dumfries and Galloway Council.

 

Applicants who have been resident outside the UK within the last 5 years, if offered a position, in addition to a Disclosure Scotland Check, will be required to provide a completed police record check from the police authority in the country or countries in which they were resident.
