This is an exciting opportunity to join the council in a crucial post within Democratic Services. Key responsibilities of the role include providing governance advice to members and officers at meetings and in advance, checking draft reports for compliance with council policies, legislation and good practice, clerking meetings where you will be the lead governance officer and supporting the Chair.

You will also contribute to the maintenance and development of the Standing Orders, Schemes of Delegation, Code of Corporate Governance, Codes of Conduct, Ethical Standards etc and associated procedures.

You will be educated to SCQF Level 9 (degree or equivalent) or have commensurate experience and either hold or be willing to study for a relevant professional qualification in governance. You will also have recent experience of working on corporate governance advice and supporting committees etc.

A current driving licence is an essential requirement of this post. However, if you have a disability which precludes you from holding a driving licence consideration will be given if alternative transport can be arranged.
