The integration of Health and Adult Social Care continues to be a key strategic priority locally and across Scotland, ensuring services are delivered at the right time, in the right place, and in the right way for our communities.

To support our continued transformation and integration journey, we are delighted to welcome applications to the post of Head of Adult Social Work within Dumfries and Galloway Health and Social Care Partnership.

This is a senior, system-wide leadership role, responsible for the strategic direction, operational delivery and continuous improvement of Adult Social Work and Social Care services across the region. Working closely with the Chief Officer, elected members, professional leads and partners across health, local authority, third and independent sectors, you will play a pivotal role in shaping integrated services that improve outcomes for adults, carers and communities.

You will provide clear, compassionate and visible leadership, ensuring the delivery of safe and effective services within complex legislative, governance and financial frameworks. As a senior leader within the organisation, you will be accountable for service performance, staff governance, quality, and the effective use of public resources.

What’s in it for you?

Lead Integrated Adult Social Work and Social Care Services

This role offers the opportunity to influence decision making at the highest levels, working collaboratively with NHS, Council, Integration Joint Board members, professional bodies and communities to improve wellbeing and outcomes.

What we’re looking for:
• A credible and experienced senior leader with a strong track record of managing and improving complex Adult Social Work and Social Care services.
• A registered professional with the appropriate qualifications and experience to deputise for the Chief Social Work Officer and operate confidently within statutory and governance frameworks.
• A collaborative system leader who can work across organisational boundaries, build strong partnerships, and lead diverse professional teams through change.
• A leader who balances strategic vision with operational grip, ensuring performance, quality, staff governance and financial sustainability are consistently delivered.
