£14,761.25 - £15,013.25

 

Based at Lincluden HWRC in Dumfries, you will assist and advise the public to maximise recycling and help with the manual handling of their waste. You will keep the HWRC free from litter and debris and work in accordance with all site procedures, licences, and site rules. You will also be required to assist with some duties on a Transfer Station if required.

 

You must be educated to a Standard Grade level. You will have good communication and interpersonal skills, be self-motivated and be able to work under pressure.

 

Experience in the waste industry, building industry or another relevant industry would be a desirable attribute.  It would also be desirable to have experience in customer service. You should have an understanding of the importance of recycling and Health & Safety in the workplace.

 

The post available for HWRC Operative:

 

1 x permanent post of 21 hours per week 6 hours per day on a two week rolling rota as follows; Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday the 1^st week and Wednesday, Thursday the 2^nd week

 

This post may be required to cover other Household Waste Recycling Centre from time to time.  

 

This post is subject to a Baseline Personnel Security Standards check, and this includes candidate vetting through Disclosure Scotland.

A current driving licence is a desired requirement of this post. However, if you have a disability which precludes you from holding a driving licence consideration will be given if alternative transport can be arranged.
