Learning Assistant PEF (Fixed Term)

We are seeking to appoint a Fixed Term PEF Learning Assistant, 27.5 hours per week, term time (39 weeks per year), until the end of May 2026. We would also consider applications from those would who be interested in working a portion of these hours.

This post may be suitable for secondment. Agreement from your line manager must be sought before applying for this post.

 

The successful candidate will hold qualifications at SCQF Level 4 (e.g. National 4, Standard Grade General) or equivalent in English and Maths and have prior experience of working with children and/or young people.

The Learning Assistants at Kirkcudbright Academy are vital in supporting the young people at the school and are highly valued members of our whole school staff.

Kirkcudbright Academy is situated within the Stewartry area to the west of Dumfries and has a school roll of approximately 420 pupils. We are an inclusive school which strives to provide the best quality of education for life, with the needs of pupils at the centre of all we do.

This post is considered as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.  From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to formal offer of employment being made by Dumfries and Galloway Council.
