This post is fixed term for up to one year to cover a maternity leave.

Are you passionate about customer service, sport, and creating a safe and welcoming environment for all? Dumfries Ice Bowl is looking for enthusiastic and dedicated Leisure Attendants to join our team.

As a Leisure Attendant, you’ll play a key role in delivering a first-class experience to our visitors—whether they’re here to skate, curl, play ice hockey, or simply enjoy the facilities. You’ll be responsible for supervising activities, setting up equipment, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety, and providing excellent customer care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all customers and visitors
  • Supervise public sessions and support events on the ice and within the facility
  • Set up and maintain equipment for various activities
  • Deliver outstanding customer service at all times
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene across all areas
  • Respond appropriately to incidents and follow health & safety procedures

 

What We’re Looking For:

  • A positive attitude and strong team player
  • Excellent communication and people skills
  • Willingness to work flexible shifts including evenings and weekends
  • Experience in a leisure, sport, or customer-facing role (desirable)

Requirements

This post is considered as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to formal offer of employment being made by Dumfries and Galloway Council.

 

Applicants who have been resident outside the UK within the last 5 years, if offered a position, in addition to a Disclosure Scotland Check, will be required to provide a completed police record check from the police authority in the country or countries in which they were resident.
